Now it's easy: wash, dry, use, and abuse
Wash:
- If possible, use liquid detergent (to avoid residue)
- No fabric softener – adding a little white vinegar can help soften stiff fabrics
- Low spin cycle
- Low temperature
Dry:
- Preferably out of direct sunlight
- Hang to dry in a zigzag pattern (except for wools)
- Avoid tumble dryers (when possible)
Use and abuse:
- Without moderation
- With lots of love
How to soften a wrap/ring sling:
- Use as a seat in the car or on the sofa
- Place under the sheets
- Braid it
- Steam it
Tips:
- Wash before use (no matter how tempting it is not to, so the fibers can adjust naturally and nothing gets damaged :p )
Ring Sling:
- Wash inside a pillowcase to avoid scratching the rings or potentially damaging the machine or rubber parts
Mei Tai:
- Wash inside a pillowcase to prevent the straps from stretching
Buckle Carriers/ Onbuhimo:
- Avoid frequent washing due to the padding they may have.
- Hand washing can be a good option.
- To protect buckles and padding, use inside a pillowcase.
- Sometimes a damp cloth is enough for minor dirt.
