Board games: learning and playing around the table

A board game brings parents, grandparents and children together at the same table, screen-free. At Gotu, you'll find everything from classics that span generations, such as tic-tac-toe, checkers and chess, to logic and reasoning games designed to develop patience, strategy and the ability to wait one's turn.

Classics for the whole family

Checkers, chess and tic-tac-toe in versions designed for small hands, with larger pieces and sturdy boards. These are many children's first contact with rules, turns and the idea of losing and playing again.

Logic and reasoning games

For children who already enjoy a challenge, logic and reasoning games train sequential thinking and problem-solving, with difficulty levels that increase as the child progresses.

Dexterity and balance games

Balance, aiming and coordination games, often made of wood, that combine group fun with fine motor skills training.

How to choose a board game

First, look at the manufacturer's recommended age and the number of players. A game with small parts requires more supervision at younger ages; a game with longer rules is more rewarding from age 6 or 7, when the child can maintain attention for an entire match.

Frequently asked questions

From what age can you play a board game?

There are board games adapted from age 3, with large pieces and simple rules. More elaborate strategy and logic games are usually designed for children aged 5 or 6 and up.

What is the difference between a board game and a logic game?

A board game is usually played between several people, with turns and pieces that move. A logic game can be played alone, with increasingly difficult challenges to solve.

Do Gotu's board games come in Portuguese?

The instructions follow the language set by the manufacturer; we always indicate on the product page when the game includes instructions in Portuguese.
