Printable activitiesPrintable mazes, and one to play right here
There is a rule that gets any child out of almost every paper maze: place your hand on a wall and never let go. It takes longer than getting it right the first time, but you always reach the exit. Try it on the maze below and then print the ten from our free PDF.

The hand-on-the-wall rule
In a maze without islands, where all the walls are connected to each other, anyone who consistently follows the same wall ends up passing the exit. That is what the dashed line in the game does: it turns right whenever there is a path. It then tries straight ahead, then left, and only turns back when it hits a dead end.
Most children's mazes are like this. Those that have looping paths, such as ones drawn with intersecting lines, require a different strategy: marking the paths already tried with a pencil.

The 10 mazes in the free PDF
Each one has a small mission: take the chicken to the nest, the little mouse to the cheese, the bear to the honey pot, or the piglet to the right house. There are wide paths, good for the little ones, tangled lines that cross over, and a tight grid for those who already enjoy a challenge.
