How can you explain the inexplicable to a small heart?
Sometimes, adult words are too big, cold, and complicated for a child to understand. Words like "divorce" or "separation" sound like definitive and frightening things that they can't visualize.
But there is something that all children understand instinctively: colors .
This story was born with a very simple purpose. We wanted to explain the concept of separation without ever having to use the word. Because for a child, what matters most is not the legal definition of what is happening between the parents, but what is happening inside their heart.
Miguel lived in a green world. It was the perfect color, warm and calm, created by mixing his mother's yellow with his father's blue.
Suddenly, the colors separated. Miguel began to travel between the yellow world and the blue world, but he felt an immense emptiness. Where was the green? Where was he in the middle of all this?
Throughout these pages, we don't teach the child what a court or shared custody is. We teach something far more valuable: that just like in painting, green only exists because yellow and blue met one day. And this mixture, this special color, is forever kept inside Miguel, no matter where his parents live.
Created with the delicacy of watercolor, this book is a safe space. It's a way for you to validate what your child feels, to show them that sadness is normal, but that they will never cease to be the beautiful sum of those who love them.
