This refined Organic Fractionated Coconut Oil is emollient (prevents water loss) and soothing to the skin without clogging pores. It is colorless, composed primarily of capric and caprylic acids, low viscosity, soluble in other oils, and widely used in natural cosmetics as a carrier oil for essential oils, in massages, and in the preparation of soaps, lotions, creams, and other cosmetics, since it is very light and non-greasy. As the name suggests, fractionated coconut oil is a fraction of coconut oil from which almost all the long-chain triglycerides have been removed, leaving mainly the medium-chain triglycerides, which make it a saturated oil. This gives it a long and very stable shelf life, making it an oil that does not go rancid.
